摘要：This study examines the impact of top managers’ academic backgrounds on green innovation within the context of China’s new Environmental Protection Law. Utilizing green patent data from listed companies in the China A-Share market from 2008 to 2019, and employing the DID approach, we find the law significantly boosts green innovation in firms led by academically skilled managers. However, this effect diminishes in state-owned enterprises and financially constrained firms. Our findings emphasize the critical roles of managerial academic backgrounds and autonomy in advancing green innovation.

赵魏一，清华大学社会科学学院经济学研究所博士研究生，康奈尔大学数字经济与金融科技实验室成员，主要研究方向为实证资产定价、数字经济、金融科技。研究成果在如ABFER，EFMA，SIF，CIFFP等十余个高质量国际国内会议宣讲，曾获第七届全国金融学博士生学术论坛优秀论文一等奖(2023)，欧洲管理金融年会最佳论文奖（2022），特拉维夫大学区块链研究机构会议最佳论文奖（2021）等奖项。曾在CSSCI核心刊物发表论文。参与多项国家自然科学基金面上项目及自科重大项目。
