As China enters the critical period of the "15th Five-Year Plan" and advances the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country, Chinese-style modernization has established the fundamental direction for financial development to serve the real economy, put the people at the center, and support high-quality growth. It has elevated the goal of building a financial powerhouse to a core strategic priority. Building a financial powerhouse must be grounded in a strong economic foundation, focus on key core financial elements, and accelerate the formation of a modern financial system with Chinese characteristics, encompassing regulation, markets, institutions, supervision, products, and infrastructure. This system aims not only to enhance the resilience of the financial system itself but also to optimize resource allocation, promote technological innovation, and safeguard financial security, thereby providing critical support for developing new productive forces and advancing Chinese-style modernization. To this end, following discussions among all initiating institutions, it is decided that the 9th China Financial Scholars Forum will be held on October 24–25, 2026, at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, under the theme Building a Financial Powerhouse and Chinese-style Modernization.
